3770k vs 8350 Video Editing

Hi, im building my first PC very soon. I know this has been discussed a bunch of times before, but in every forum i check, people seem to favor the i7 for video editing. HOWEVER, that is mostly for 3d editing and intense motion graphics etc. What i plan on doing for video editing is something like this.

Mostly Cod editing, some Battlefield, and i plan on using SOME 3ds max, but nothing like making a whole scene and rendering it as you saw in the video. Just some character models and explosions perhaps. Ill be using Sony Vegas and After Effects mostly. So, my question to you is, which processor do you think will be better for that type of editing, the 8350 or the 3770k? Budget is not a problem. I plan on using a GTX 780 Superclocked and 16 Gigs of RAM.
Im also going to be playing games on it in the future, like BF4 and Arma 3, probably not on ultra settings since i want good FPS for slow motion and such, so right now im kind of leaning towards amd since its like $100 cheaper and Bf4 will be optimized towards AMD. The i5 3570k is out of the question, its only down to these 2. Thanks!

In a multithreaded environment, like video editing, the 8350 can hold it's own with a 3770K.
But, in a gaming situation, you will rarely use more than 2-3 cores, so the faster Intel cores are superior.

If budget is not a problem, and you want the best, why not consider the i7-3930K 6 core?

3DSmax...if saving yourself $100 buys a better GPU (I can imagine it will), you'll be better off with the 8350, since the difference in performance is 15 seconds when rendering the same thing...I don't think you'll notice the difference.

You could consider a 4770K. It is 10% faster at stock, but does not OC as high as a 3770K, making them somewhat equivalent. But, there are some nice advantages to the Z87 chipset motherboards.
Microcenter will sell you one for walking in for $280. A 3770K would be $250.

This is what I do on a daily basis, the 3770k is a beast in this area, the 4770k will be better
if your not overclocking, if your on a tight budget FX 8350 is also very good in this area.

This isn't 3D Rendering but it does show image rendering performance for Multicore and Singlecore so that you can compare what others have stated in this thread with an actual screenshot from an actual owner. FX-8350 @ 4.5GHz Cinebench 11.5 x64:

Now I don't have a 3770K or 4770K but I do have a 3930K @ 4.5GHz (same clock speed as the FX-8350). Have a look at the Singlecore performance compared to the previous screenshot in my post above. That is where Intel has a clear advantage in terms of an area of performance:
