Ok so i built my first PC about a month ago, so i'm relatively new to all of this, but my frien said that with overclocking you can see great improvement. I ran all games maxed out before overclocking so i asked myself why should i bother but following some tutorials i was able to gain these results.

I left the Core Voltage alone because i heard that it reduces the lifespan of the card but i was able to overclock the core clock from 1006 to 1086. At 1100 Heaven crashed. And i was able to push the memory clock from 1552 to 1602. Should i push the memory clock higher? Is the cor clock good?
And overclocking my card did i shorten it's lifespan?

UPDATE
I just pushed the memory clock to 1702

Overclocking can shorten the life span of the card. These cards have their voltages locked. Usually, too much voltage is what kills the card. I used Heaven to test my overclock on my card. if it crashes in Heaven, lower the clock a little and try again. If it is stable then I would keep it that way. Then test the overclock with some video games.

The evga 670ftw is not voltage locked at all. Stock is 987mv. You can raise this to 1150 or 1175mv depending on what bios and driver you have. Nvidia lowered it on 3.11 and newer. Voltage on those cards can be set to max as the higher clocks require it. Precision X 'voltage and tweaks' button simply sets the allowable max voltage. What it actually uses is is governed by chip draw aka clock need. Increasing volts isonly way to get higher stable clocks.

Any OC "shortens life" but not mmassively unless you screw up. So... OC might mean your card lasts 2-4yrs instead of 7-10. For most of us... so what! We'll be upgrading before then anyway lol
