Dell Precision 690 running with Windows 7 64-bit FAN TOO LOUD! Any help?
Hi, I'm new to the forums and not sure if I'm posting in the right category. So the other when I turned on my computer, I noticed the fan noise coming from the computer was really unusual. So I opened to the case and took out the fan and cleaned it. I'm not sure if I had installed the fan the wrong way or something happened but the noise coming was really annoying. Also someone has recommend me using speed fan to monitor the fan speeds. The highest peek my fan speeds has gone up to was above 3000RPM. I'm not sure if speedfan changed the speed or something happened. Please help!

My computer specs:
CPU: Intel Xeon 3.20GHz 3.19GHz (2 processors)
RAM: 8.00 GB
System type: 64 bit

Which fan do you think is too loud? A case fan, or could it be the CPU cooler fan? You can check in your BIOS setup to see if it has a 'quiet fan' option that will run the fan at low speed till needed. But I don't know what kind of BIOS options you get with a Dell work station PC.
