I'm getting a desktop but there's no room in the office so I'll probably end up putting it upstairs. The problem with this is that the router is in the office. So I might need a wireless network adapter, since stringing an ethernet cable all the way upstairs isn't very practical :D  (unless if someone else can think of how to manage that). The desktop is for gaming so I need a wireless network adapter that's lightning fast so I'm not lagging or ghosting. The desktop is LGA1150 with an ATX motherboard. Suggestions?

Edit: Apparently the motherboard has WiFi integrated. So on second thought would this work for connecting to the internet wirelessly like a laptop?

    Motherboard- Onboard LAN
  • LAN Chipset Intel I217-V, Realtek 8111GR
  • Max LAN Speed Dual 10/100/1000Mbps
  • Wireless LAN Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
  • Bluetooth Bluetooth v4.0, Bluetooth v3.0 + HS

  • So for gaming should I connect the desktop to the router with an ethernet cable, get a wireless network adapter, or just use the motherboard?
