I'm planning to build a gaming pc and I'm going to be getting the following

cpu-i5 4670K
Graphics card- GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Video
Case- XION XION Gaming Series XON-985-BK Black with BLUE LED Light Steel/ Plastic, Meshed Front Panel design. ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

I want to use this pc for gaming but nothing too fancy. I just want to be able to play games like battlefield 4 and arma 2 on high settings. I'm planning on spending around 800 dollars on the pc.

Hello,:hello:

I see that you haven't mentioned your motherboard model, if you can do that'd will be helpful.

Since, you have an unlocked CPU you can start with 1600MHz for speed and go upto 2133MHz and about 8GB-16GB of memory would be the right choice to go. If you need memory with heat spreaders then go with GSkill TridentX or Ripjaws or Corsair. If you prefer ValueRAM then try getting it from Kingston or memorystock.com. I assume you are not overclocking so i'd go with 8GB (2x 4GB) CL7 1600MHz DIMM. For better gaming get the best Graphics card your motherboard supports. If you need any more info let me know. Good luck!

Do you think the corsair vengeince 2X 4gb 1600 MHz ram like mentioned above is a good choice? Like I'm not a heavy hardcore pc gamer but I would consider myself to be a mild hardcore. Somewhere around there. So do you think that would be sufficient? and thanks for your help.

Yes, corsair Vengeance is a good choice. Or you can try GSkill TridentX or Kingston HyperX but any of them will do. Go for the lowest latency possible i.e, CL7. Yes, 8GB should be more than enough to run any game.

The Corsair Vengeance 2x4 in 1600, is a wide swath, think they have a CL 7 set, either 2-3 CL8 sets and about a dozen CL9 sets, if any of those I'd look at the CL 7 set or one of the CL8 sets, basically as I mentioned before on the GSkill sets, look for CL8 or better in 1600
