The answer to your question is the best ssd depends on your motherboard configuration, your software applications, and what you do wityh your computer. Please provide a little more information about your system and what you do with it.

I normally recommend Samsung due to overall excellent performance and reliability. Crucial, Intel, and Plextor are also worth considering.

I maintain the ssd database listed in the sticky at the very top of this forum section. Here is the link:

Pretty much have to look at write/read speed of each SSD and see which one is best for you.

If you are looking to read and write a lot, I would go with the Kingston Hyper X
If you are just going to be playing games then read time is more important, and I would go with the Samsung 840 because its a 100 bucks with 530mb/s seq. read time and the 140 dollar ones are 560mb/s. That/s not another forty dollars worth of speed to me.

SAMSUNG PRO I HAVE THE OCZ VERTEX 3 LESS THEN 6 MONTHS OLD AND ITS DYING GOING TO SEND IT BACK FOR RMA SO I CAN GET A REFURBISHED FOR THE PRICE I PAID FOR A NEW ONE.... opps sorry long day caps on also have a Kingston so far so good with it about a month old now the OCZ within 3 days of use it would pull up non system error or boot into the bios . it would run for weeks on end then do this on days on end really fast mind you but after going thru the system and determing this was the problem its been pulled and a OLD DRIVE has been installed and no problems since in last 2 weeks. But Samsung pro is the best from what I read and what I have seen.

IDK IF newegg is still having the sale but promo code on the Samsung 840 non pro for like 89 bucks was going on. I wont buy another OCZ sure my windows total score was 7.3 with it but my windows score is 7.2 with a Kingston and its not a hyper X

SR-71, You get a new CPU? or do you use both? I swear the other day they both said 8350. My SSD will have for company a 4670K, MSI G45 Z87, G.Skill Sniper 2x4GB CL9/1866. I almost got the 3570k but Micorcenter got the deal.

hoshicat - I have read both the TweakTown and The SSD Review technical reviews of the Angelbird ssd's. The Angelbird ssd's as well as a large group of new ssd's will be added to the ssd database within the next few days. In addition, I will be deleting quite a few ssd's that are no longer in production.
