What's better a Samsung PLS panel or an LG IPS panel?

I'm looking into getting a 27" 1440p display but i'm unsure which is better.

The PLS panels are cheaper but are they still good? I'll be using my computer for mostly gaming and schoolwork. I play games like BF3, league of legends, skyrim, fallout, etc. I also don't need anything fancy, i have desktop speakers and won't be connecting additional inputs to it.

Yeah they seem to be much the same thing. Here's a review of an excellent 27" PLS:

Just to give you some idea of colour accuracy, white balance, contrast ratio, response etc. This makes PLS appear to match IPS in every area except response (where it beats IPS) BUT I think in this case it's Asus Trace Free that's contributing more to response. So they're really much the same.
