Although i possess enough knowledge about GPU's i always like the trusted toms hardware community to almost always make the decision for me. Right now i'm in a debating whether these cards will be right for me or not. I game at a resolution of 1280x1024 and i like to play the latest games which almost always run with 30+ FPS on high settings. Aside from far cry 3. Far cry 3 is a bitch to run. Here are my specs

Core 2 Duo e6600 2.4GHz (Can't overclock)
2GB DDR2 Ram
9600GSO
Corsair CX430

And im looking at these GPU's to let me ramp up the settings. I'll be playing at high settings with 4x AA and i hope to achieve at least 30+ Fps on far cry 3 on high. (Already get around 45Fps on low)

I would if i could. I know that the HD7750 can do a lot on high settings at my resolution yet here i am going with the hd7770 just to make sure. Besides, i'll be bottlenecked even harder if i decide to get the HD7790 at which price point i might as well buy a HD7850. OMG here come the 7850 fanboys

Seriously guys. I can't stretch my budget any more and i'm not gaming on a super high resolution either.

I'm quite the MSI fanboy, but the ASUS card is the best option. OC the biscuits off the HD 7770 :D lol Maybe you'll need a cpu upgrade in the near future too... if you're having trouble running FC3 after the GPU upgrade, you will probably need a better CPU. (here come the intel fanboys saying you won't need a CPU upgrade and that you could run a GTX 680 and your dual core CPU will only see a 10% bottleneck)

If he has 32-bit Windows there's not much point upgrading his RAM.
32-bit Windows can address 4GB total which INCLUES the Video RAM. It first allocates space for the VRAM (so don't ever get a 2GB graphics card for 32-bit Windows) and a few other minor things.

Thus it goes like THIS:
4GB-1GB = 3GB
3GB-400MB (roughly) = 2.6GB

Current RAM = 2GB.

So if he added 4GB he might be able to realistically address 2.6GB of that or 0.6GB more than he had. It's actually significant but at this point it's best to get 64-bit Windows but then we're spending more money.

Long story short, sure get the HD7770 but save your money up for a future, better 64-bit Windows system.
