Sudden GPU performance dropdown

Hi, i know, that this thread is here for many times already, but my graphics card ( GTX 560 directCU2 OC http://pctuning.tyden.cz/hardware/graficke-karty/21052-test-dvou-geforce-gtx-560-gtx-460-na-steroidech?start=3 ) is doing that.

I play, usage at 100%, temperature around 65°C. After a while (10 min) the gpu clock MHz drops down for a 50% (high FPS dropdown in game). Fans are still, worikng at 40% max. CPU also does not loose performance.

I suspect PSU, according to other discusions here on this topic. So I tried to use other cables to connect my GPU, does not help. Cleened everything, it heleped - after cleaning i played 3 hours without problems, then I minimized, turned the Utorrent on, went back to game and...BAM! FPS and usage dropdown.

So, I tried to connect both endings of 6pin reduction to my PSU. This GPU has 2x 6pin. One of these goes from my PSU , for second one, I have reduction, as you can see on the picture in the link i posted above.
And this 6 pin reduction has two endings, each with one white reduction (molex is it called?). Until today I had only one molex connected to PSU, today Im about to use both connected.
Is there a chance this will work? If not, im probbably buying new PSU.

Now i have tihs graphics, AMD FX 8120 3100, 8GB RAM, 550W PSU.

Thanks for potential advises :)

Sounds like a PSU issue, but something on the card may be failing too in terms of power management. Are you able to manually change fan speeds of your card in a program such as MSI Afterburner?

Im gonna try that. But for what? The temperature of GPU is ok, no?

but watch this!

i have a new suspect now - the mother board, check the temperatures - 80 digrees, fan 99%.

The card may behave differently under load, you may be correct though, do you have another system you could test your card in to make sure that that isn't the issue?

Different system means anothe computer?

It occures also without utorent.

I checked it now, its gonna be because of th motherboard temperature - when it reach 80°C shortly after that the performance dropdown occures (btw, also sometimes the pc turns suddenly off).

But how to solve that i dont know.

ok, thanks. But seems like that now i have to find out solution for the overheating of TMPIN2 on the motherboard. This is always the same - reach 80°C suddenly the GPU usage goes to 30%. When i wait for the temperature to go down, start the game again, then it works, until the 80° comes again. Then the pc shuted down :D

Well it definitely sounds like a PSU issue then. The max temperatue for the GTX 560 is 99°C so it shouldn't be shutting down at 80°C unless the system has insufficient power. I don't believe you ever enclosed what model your PSU is and how much watt it outputs?

Well, the 80° is temperature TMPIN2 on the motherboard, supposed to be under the CPU. So i believed that it is issue of motherboard and cpu overheating. So I cleaned it, put new thermo paste on it. And then, the overheating was slightly better. And the dropdown came on 75°C TMPIN2. So now I am coming back to the PSU susspecting. Gonna try to find out the voltage via the MSI afterburner
