Hey guys, greetings from Brazil.

I want to buy a 1000w+ PSU, and I want to know if this is a smart buy.

Electronics here in general are expensive, due to freight and customs duty. Things here are on average 100% pricer than over US. So don't be surprised with the following numbers lol.

There is this PSU in the title, and I think it doesn't sell in the USA, because I did not find any review in english. I know it sells in europe, because I found some videos on yt in russian (didn't understand a thing, obviously), and two reviews in spanish and italian (being latin origin languages, I can understand them).

The reviews says its good. It has 80plus gold and the efficiency was confirmed in the tests (and in the 80plus website). But I am concerned with the ripple (in the 12v rail). None of them says about it. The only source I have to jugde is this picture from the spanish review: http://www.islabit.com/wp-content/imagenes/raul/22-fa-atx/02-aerocool-strike-x-1100/28-aerocool-strike-x-1100.png

If you see, there is these peaks, is that normal? I am used to see PSU reviews in which they use load testers, and the ripple is a constant noise. Is the ripple an important parameter on overclock, or the VRM can get rid of it?

The other option I am considering it the ocz 1000w fatal1ty. I know it has low ripple (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/OCZ/FTY1000W/8.html).

Here is the converted prices in the local market:

Aerocool Strike X: USD 265.00
OCZ FATAL1TY: USD 355.00
CoolerMaster ATX Silent Pro Gold 1200W: 405.00 USD (for comparison)
Corsair 1200W AX1200i: 638.00 USD (for comparison)

Thank you.

Usually if PSU's have 80+ Gold certifications, you're pretty safe to know that all the cap's, transformers, and transistors are very well built to the point of being 90% efficient. It's safe to say that it'll work just fine. The ripples are usually from the throttle of the CPU and motherboard, at moments the motherboard will not need 12V, it doesn't have to be necessarily a constant thing.

A little curious to know what you're running, because 1000W+ is quite high, i run a hefty computer that demands a lot and i only use an 850W PSU.

Well, I might consider an 850W PSU as well. I will run a 4770k with GTX 780 SLI, and I will OC the CPU and want to use a custom water cooler solution in the future.

But if you think in terms of price, this PSU in even cheaper than a corsair 80plus gold 850w:

Corsair HX-850W: 295.00 USD

Dunno man, I've been reading some bad reviews about aerocool's PSU (not this one in particular).
