After discovering rust and other crud in my water cooling setup, i decided to strip it down and clean all of it out. this took me almost an entire day, with mistake after mistake halting the progress (including discovering that my compression fittings were a tad too small for the tubing i had). well the nail in the coffin came after i got everything put together. the XSPC D5 pump died on me, after only 3 months of use T.T there were no leaks in the system, even after using clamps from the hardware store to attach the tubing to the compression fittings. but ive decided to put water cooling off for a while.

now on to the point of this. i need someone to recommend me some after market coolers for my reference EVGA GTX 670s. im going to be replacing my water cooling setup with the h80 stashed in my closet (or ill upgrade to a h100, idk yet), so i need a good set of air coolers cause it gets hot in Alabama. this is the card i bought: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2580889 (times two of course :p)

i would put the originals back on but it sort of had to snap the things holding the vram heatsinks (i think) off of the becuase i could not get those darn heatsinks off and at an internet search did not yield a how to guide... so yeah, those are no longer an option lol any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

thats one of the ones i was looking at, im also looking at these two: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835426026

i sorta like the other two cause they are smaller, but i heard gtx 670s get really hot, and i havent really used the 670s while aircooled. im going to take to youtube to see if i can find any info on these vga coolers

How long have you had the water loop running for? Im guessing only 3 months since you said your pump died after 3 months. Something in your loop was not done right then to have rust and crud buildup. Use distilled water and a silver kill coil, Ive had multiple water loops over the years and have not had any problems with that combo.

For what your going to pay to get two air coolers for your cards and maybe a new h100 unit you could buy a new pump and be done with it. pumps fail, its one of the things that happen with watercooling. heck ive had a corsair h50 pump fail in less then 24 hours on me, nothing is immune to failure.

the build up was due to a fitting i bought from Lowes that i used on one of the radiators (used distilled water, and deadwater drops). i just really dont have the patience at the moment to deal with the hours needed to put the crap back together for a third time. im probably just going to stick with the h80, and upgrade the fans and use shrouds on them. i just need a good aftermarket air cooler for an sli setup. and ive had a H60 fail on me before, and i went back and got it replaced. to be honest my h80 was enough, i just really wanted to try water cooling for myself, and now that ive tried it i have come to the conclusion that its just not for me atm. i just lack the patience to deal with it.

I've looked at both of those coolers at one point in time when I was trying find a better solution for cooling SLI GTX 480's and it all comes back to water cooling is the best way to cool SLI cards. I cringe when I think of the sound of reference coolers at full load on two cards. I never really knew just how loud they actually where. Loose the lowe's fittings flush you system with vinegar, then flush, flush, flush with water and put some more silver in you loop. I have one silver fitting per connection or one on each rad, cpu block, reservoir and also some UV light will help keep your loop clean.
