I am trying to build out a watercooling loop that will involve a rad with 3x 120mm fans. I am looking at a fan controller to control the 3x120mm fans, and other case fans.

I would like to control the 3x 120mm fans on one knob, leaving the other 3 knobs for other components. Is there a way to daisy-chain the fans together onto one controller? Is there any risk in doing this?

I would also like to have 1 knob control the pump, but I cant find much info about controlling pump speed with a fan controller.

If anyone could point me in the right direction to find the answers I seek, I would really appreciate it.

Fans - 5-7x Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-15
Case - Phantom 630
Controller - Lamptron FC5 v2
Watercooling kit - XSPC Raystorm 750 RS360

To get the fans on one channel you will need something like one of these. They're a pain to find mainly because while most online PC shops have them, they don't make them easy to search for and call them a few different names. There shouldn't be any harm at all in daisying those fans. As long as you don't overshoot the wattage limit on the channel (which I believe is 30 on your controller) then you should be able to daisy as many fans as you want. Given your fans, that should be around 30, so no problems there.

While you can connect a pump to a fan controller, I don't know how well you will be able to control it, particularly with the pump you will be using. I'm not sure that pump allows for speed control, so you will have...

I'm not sure that pump allows for speed control, so you will have to read up on that some. If it doesn't it will either shut the pump off if you try to turn it down, or you can introduce an anomaly in the pump itself and cause it to burn itself out over time. I would be careful to try to read up some more on that particular pump, or see if someone else has more insight than I do.

Your fan choice uses .083a per fan Amps x Volts = Watts. So 7 fans would be about 5.6w. No problem on one channel. Your pump uses about 1.4-6a. So again no problem. However.... the x20 pump in that kit is rather weak. I would NOT advise running it anything but full tilt. Now... if you opt for the same kit with the D5 version pump, you could adjust that as it is a far stronger pump.

Either way, unless you want room for growth later, there are a ton of controllers you could use that can handle what you want at a cheaper price. Or even simply less channels as 5 channels to use 2 is, well... silly lol. A D5 pump at full tilt uses 2a by the way. Something to keep in mind
