CPU: i5 3570k
GPU: EVGA GTX 670
Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V Pro
Cooler: Hyper 212
PSU: Corsair CX750

Basically, computer keeps shutting off at random times while on any game. I though it was an overclocking issue, but remembered that I used to have a anti-surge error when I first built the PC and I simply turned the anti-surge support off in BIOS. Is my PSU dying?

I manually tested the PSU under Prime95 load...
3.3v= 3.32v
5v= 5.02v
12v= 11.9v

Ah, I posted before the anti-surge screen shot. Yeah, that looks like the PSU. A new one is probably in order. I'd suggest something made by Seasonic, FSP, Delta, or Super Flower. You'll need no more than 550W for that system.

Could possibly be the PSU, try using a different wall outlet/power strip. Try and see if it's being caused by something other than the computer itself.

I'll try my other surge protector.

I just enabled the anti-surge support in BIOS and ran Batman: Arkham City and it did it again. When it restarted, it showed that anti-surge protection error...

Yeah that error message is pretty straight forward, I would look into buying a new PSU before it damages your internal components. You could probably take your power supply to a local PC repair store and have them test it to confirm the error. They will usually do this for free.

Your temps all look good. It's shutting OFF, not just crashing or rebooting? That sounds like the PSU. The non-modular versions of the Corsair CX line were made using some inferior Samxon capacitors that don't like heat and are known to fail early. Is the PSU getting a decent amount of air through it? Make sure your case fans are balanced, keeping in mind that unless it gets its own air from under your case, the PSU is an exhaust. If you have no intake fans and two exhaust fans (plus the PSU), it may not be able to cool itself. What case do you have, and what fans are installed?

It shuts off with no warning and simply restarts. I can start a game again and it'll do it sometimes within 5 minutes, sometimes may take an hour. I've got the Antec One Illusion case. The side fan directly next to the PSU is an intake.

Not to add to your difficulties, but it's not a good plan to disable safety features. That tells me your PSU has been hosed all along and should have been RMA'd.

It is possible that there's a problem with the mobo's sensor but definitely test the PSU as stated above.

It restarts, rather than just switching off? That could also be RAM-related. Since the anti-surge is triggering though, it is also possible that some kind of power disturbance is hitting that is more than the PSU can filter. That would be a little unusual with an active PFC unit though. Do you have a UPS? Any difference with the other surge protector (although this may be a dip)? Does an incandescent lamp plugged into the same circuit flicker when this happens?

Yea, it's switches off, but it immediately starts back up with the above anti-surge message.

I do not have a UPS.

I've switched surge protectors and played Arkham City for a little while and it hasn't shut-down as off yet. I'm going to play it for the next hour or so and will update if it shuts down again or not. I also just plugged a lamp in.

Thanks for the help.

I'm going to look a a better cooling solution next. I have the Hyper 212, but I can't seem to get the fan speed right. All other fans idle at around 850 rpm's or so, but the 212 fan is at ~625rpm's.

I put in a PSU a buddy had(Corsair GS800) and I haven't had an issue yet. Ran a bunch of Valley benchmarks both with default and overclocked profiles. Ran the Arkham City benchmark and played about 45 minutes on Arkham City...nothing. I think that fixed my issue.

Thanks for all of the help and suggestions.

Check your bios for fan speeds, sometimes they have options to increase the fan to a certain percentage once they reach a certain temperature. Yours might be set to always stay at 640rpm or so. I have the 212 evo and its awesome, if all else fails just throw a second fan on it.

I have it set to the turbo profile. Put it on manual and changed speeds, but it didn't do anything to it. I unplugged the wire and plugged it into the cpu_opt spot and it now has good rpm's and is keeping the CPU around 55c

Thats good to hear, let us know if a new PSU makes everything work well again.
