I was instructed by your quick start guide to install Kies on my cvvomputer ? Why? I am also looking for the owners manual for this phone (Samsung GT-B5330) Galaxy chat.

By "your" quick start guide, who are you talking about? Kies is used for data transfer between phone and PC, usually to synch stuff like contacts and emails and for backups.

For the manual, just go to you favorite web search site and type in "Samsung GT-B5330 manual".
