Battlefield 3 Issues

I have this problem in BF3 where I would crash in game. I think this is because the game isn't compatible with windows 8 and that's what I have. I was just wondering if there was anyway around this and to get it working again. This is the error message I get when I crash.

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG: Device hung due to badly formed
commands... GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti ", Driver:32018

In some matches I wouldn't crash at all but usually when I play game modes like rush it would crash more.

Solution
Sounds like a GPU/Driver issue to me. When did you update to 320.18? You should probably revert back to 314.22. Give that a try and see if the problem continues to happen. My guess is that it is just some bad coding in the the 320.18 driver.

This made my BF3 crash quicker. Now it crashes right when I open it.

When you were installing 314.22 did you check the "Perform clean install" option and reboot?

No, the problem you had was that you had a couple of different versions of the drivers installed and it was getting confused which driver commands to use. In the future when doing graphics driver updates, always use the custom install and clean install options and you wont have the problem, since it essentially completely removes the prior driver before it installs the new one.

Cheers.
