When will the 780's price drop?

I am looking to upgrade my computer and am a patient shopper. I could wait a year to get the 780 if it dropped to $500. I just can’t stomach spending any more than $500 on a graphics card. My questions is do you think this will happen within the next year or should I just upgrade now and buy the 770?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

So if you were a betting man, you would say even a year from now the 780 will still be above $500? Also will a 3 GB version of the 770 be coming out anytime soon? My main goal is BF4 1080P Ultra settings 60 FPS. Will the 770 be OK for this?

BF4 will need alittle better graphics hardware then BF3 and a 770 would easily do 60fps IMO without a problem. You could always go 760 SLI and have better then Titan performance.

Thanks Intel God for your quick responses! I am judging by your name that you are somewhat biased, but if it was your money would you go 770 over radeon 7970 and why? Also if I was interested in crossfire or sli After a few years (like 3) do you think they will still be selling the 770? I want to SLI, but I wouldn’t do it right away… I would get one now and then once I realize I can’t run games at max settings I would get another, but I am not sure if they would still be selling the 770’s at that time…

Not biased at all. Just couldn't think of a decent name

The 7970 as a single card is amazing. 3GB memory, Great memory bandwidth, Runs whatever you throw at it. The only problem you run into with it is if you go crossfire. Amd's crossfire drivers are a mess but a fix is slated to be released on july 31st but who knows if it'll work very well.

The 770 is tried and true. It's a reworked GTX 680 with some super fast memory and a new power delivery system. IMO its the card to buy if you're looking for the best single card for 1920X1080 or 1200.

IF i was buying today i would go SLI 760's. It crushes a GTX titan for 500 dollars
