I just realized you said "record" in your first question. How do you plan on recording it? If you're using fraps or something similar, I would say no; the fps would be miserable. If you are using a hardware device, like a PCIe card that records it for you then, yes that'd work just fine.

What will be used to cap? What codec? Most software cap programs arent going to be able to do 1080 ultra with that.

Tried bf3 with gtx680/2600k ultra it was around half my normal frames. In other words unacceptable. Going down in quality and resolution made a reasonable difference. i would suggest a device as others have. That new gforce experience supposedly only takes 5 percent performance maybe worth looking into. edit cap was done using msi afterburner trying all codecs, qualities, and resolution.
