GA-Z77X-UD3H USB 3.0 Not Working / Problems

I have a GA-Z77X-UD3H REV 1.1 which facilitates USB 3.0 but every time I connect a USB 3.0 device to it it tells me that the device can perform faster if I hook it up to a USB 3.0 port. I have the USB 3.0 mobo interface drivers and software running. I have tried different USB 3.0 devices. I have tried different USB ports, both directly on the mobo and those using a header. All of my other drivers and the BIOS are the latest versions. Why can't I get this to work?!

Yes, USB3.0 drivers and monitoring software were installed correctly. I am beginning to wonder if there is a larger problem with the motherboard as a whole. Can you recommend some good mobo diagnostic software?
