Well, for starters, while the FX6100 is a good CPU, to get what you want out of it, you might want to OC.

However, if you are willing to buy a newer CPU, you could easily grab something like the FX 6300/6350/8320/8350, drop it in and reinstall windows, etc.

The 6300 will provide better efficiency, better gaming, and higher clock speeds. If money is not an issue, you might want to look at an 8 core like the 8320 or 8350.

ive gone into bios and looked to make sure there is no integrated graphics enabled, do you think it is being bottle necked?

Nope, in this game his cpu IS bottlenecking.

The 6100's extremely weak per core performance + extremely unoptimized code.

so would you recommend a good cpu that will be semi future proof, able to run bf3, planteside 2 and other games of that nature on high/ultra settings

download this, run it and post back what it says under mainboard spcifically "manufacturer" and "model".

That should enable us to look up your motherboards possible cpu upgrades.

Best case scenario you are looking at about 40 - 50fps on ultra with drops when shit hits the fan in game with the better amd cpu's while heavily overclocked.
