while im massively overhauling the innards of my main computer, i decided to rebuild my old computer (seeing as most of the parts were just laying around useless). these are the specs:

AMD Phenom II 965 BE (w/stock cooler)
EVGA GTX 560 se
700w OCZ ModXstream PSU
CM Storm Scout midtower
8 gigs Corsair Vengeance ram

i have an old corsair liquid cooling unit and some arctic silver somewhere, so im good on that. the main thing i want is to upgrade the 560 se. it was good for playing battlefield 3 on medium at around 50 fps, but i knew it would not cut it when crysis 3 came out, when i upgraded my main rig to gtx 670s in sli.
what is a single card that would give me around 40-50 fps in most games, but wont run me too much cash. 300 max for now. ive also heard that 2x gtx 650 tis outperform a single gtx 670 for about 320 bucks or so. any truth to that?

games i play:

Battlefield 3
Crysis 3
StarCraft 2
Metro Last Light

those should give a good idea at what im looking to play

so the general consensus seems to point towards the hd 7970. but how will that card work alongside my Phenom II 965 BE? wouldnt there be a bottleneck? or would it be all that noticeable?

Shouldn't be a bottleneck if there(would depend on game is CPU intensive) is one you should be able to pickup an aftermarket cooler and overclock.
