Hello! I have a problem with this build:

i5 4670k
GTX 780
ASRock z87 E3

Intel 128GB SSD
(2x WD Black 1tb HDD) - removed for testing
8GB Corsair Ram

1 CPU Fan
2 Front Fans
1 Back Fan
(2 top fans) - removed for testing
(1 bottom fan) - removed for testing

650W Power Supply

The problem is that the computer is running fine, all fans working and the graphics card lighting up, but there is no beep. In fact, there's no display. I plugged a monitor onto the computer, and the monitor shows no signal. I've waiting for a minute and there has never been a beep. I'm really new at building computer, and TBH it probably won't surprise me if something came in DOA, but it would suck.

I suspect that the PSU might not have enough wattage. Even though some people have told me that 650W is fine, i'm still suspicion that there isn't aren't watts to go around.

P.S. To prove that i'm a newb. I spend over 20 minutes trying to fix my computer turning on then shutting down right after. Turns out I didn't connect the 8 pin CPU power. DERP.

I connected the blue monitor connecting thingy (Sorry not professional but idk the name xD) to the motherboard connector. The GTX 780's two monitor connections don't look the same as the one on my monitors.

EDIT: its a vga cable. I connected it to the vga connector on the MOBO

thats probably why no display

you want to connect to the gtx780

if you take out the gtx780 it should display

does the gtx 780 have white connectors?

the gtx780 should have came with an adaptor that goes from the white (dvi) to the blue vga cable you have

edit--like this

I'll go try that real quick

EDIT: I feel like a major idiot now xD

It works, but knowing my luck something else is bound to go wrong. You'll get best answer, but I wanna keep this open for a bit so that if anything else pops up I can just post in this thread

Whew after all that though, finally the installation part is almost complete. Now, the only thing that puzzles me a bit is the optional fans. I got 2 optional fans for the top, and 1 for the bottom.

I have no idea how to install the top fans into my case. At the moment, they're just sitting on the top. The screws that were provided are too thick for anything. I have an XON-985 case and the 2 fans at the top are the 7$ cooler master ones.

The bottom fan I haven't tested because I don't know how to mount that thing. I got 4 weird long rubber things that I'm supposed to pull from the bottom of the case, but from the looks of it, the dustfilter won't be able to close when I put those rubber things in. The bottom fan is a 140 Rosewill fan.

their installation guide sucks big time

but its got a fan controller so it will probably have a large four pin molex maybe even 2 of them to power the

fan controller--those go to the psu

what type of connector is on your optional fans?

if the screws dont fit take 2 screws out of one of the installed fans--one from each corner diagonally opposite

and see if they fit your optional fans--2 screws will hold a fan no problem

the rubber fan mounts i have never used before so not sure about those

The screws don't fit because not only are the provided ones too thick, but there are no "screw ledges" on the holes to mount the fan. Also, there's a long cylindre at the bottom of the hole which makes any normal size screw too short.

I'm just letting it sit on my case for now. Thanks for all the help.
