I posted here about 3 days ago and swiftly got answered, but since then I have talked to some other people and read some articles and decided to change my builds a lot. Essentially both of the builds include everything I need (even though one lacks a mouse) but I need help deciding which is best for my money and has good longevity. I will be using the rig for mostly gaming, some light schoolwork and light video editing (2/10 priority). My budget is $1100 Canadian Dollars (CAD) after rebates, before shipping/tax.

for gaming, the i7 is overkill. go with the i5.

if you can, I would drop the "gaming" mouse+keyboard and put it into the graphics card. at least a 660. it is much easier to pick up the mouse+keyboard later.

I don't have a keyboard, but i was thinking of picking up a second 650 Ti Boost down the road and going for a dual card SLI, in that case, would the PSU be enough?

I believe 600 watts should be enough. You'll want a second opinion on that though.

However, with a lower end card like the 650 Ti, I'd recommend spending the money on a better card now rather than SLIing later.

try something like this which still leaves you $50 for a decent K+M. Or get a cheap K+M and get Haswell.
