Motherboard standoffs have rings on top

I recently bought a Cooler Master Elite 430 Black and when I installed the standoffs I noticed that two of them had a small ring on the top. I want to know if it's a factory mistake or on purpose. Please let me know. Thanks

More about motherboard standoffs rings top
  1. You'd need to show a photo or a link to an image. If the rings look brown in colour then they fit between the top of the screw and the motherboard.

    Just added one, thanks
  3. Reall odd "odd" ones. Not real sure, they don't look like they have a screw hole so could be used in lieu of a screw fitting, perhaps but then it wouldn't hold the motherboard in place. The screw part looks like a wider thread and one side is flat so it might be used like a "shelf" rivet (like in a book case to support a shelf), perhaps to hold a PSU in place?

It has a screw hole on top. I only received the sufficient amount of standoffs too.
  5. It's odd that it is odd, not sure what to think. Only use standoffs that actuall do something worthwhile.

I'm not fooling around with this anymore. I bought me some new ones from newegg.
  7. I had the same issue with my Cooler Master Elite 361 and found the solution in this thread.
