Going to upgrade some components, wondering if the I5 2500k overclocked is still a viable cpu for gaming @ 1440p? am am going for a new case and another GTX 670 for sli, should i upgrade to a Haswell or continue with the 2500K?

Marginal gains with a Haswell chip over Ivy, with the poor overclocking on Haswell, Ivy is probably slightly better. Sandy bridge overclocks even better then Ivy, so you have that going for you. If you can get that chip up to 4.5Ghz or higher, then you are looking pretty good.

Thanks for the replies. Am still using a P67 B3 Motherboard, a cheap air cooler and 6GB RAM. My current OC is 4.2Ghz.
Should i consider upgrading to a Z77 board and water cooler and maybe 8Gb RAM?

Should still have overhead in your current rig, I still run a P67, with the 2500K, it's at 4.8 and carries 32GB of DRAM - are you starved for DRAM now (lot's of HD blinking while surfing etc? If so that normally indicates DRAM is short and the blinking is your memory reading and writing to your page file on the hard drive....These days I recommend starting at 8GB (the ave store sold PC is generally at least 6GB these days)
