Hi! I'm really bad with computers and trying to figure out what would work best for me, so I'm here for some helpful advice!

Basically I want a computer between 700-900$ Canadian, mostly for doing schoolwork & playing games on Steam. Right now I use a macbook for both of those things, and it's pretty terrible.

Yeah so more or less I want basic stuff, but maybe a higher quality graphics card or something? I really have no clue. Any help would be appreciated!

Are you asking us to suggest a prebuilt system or would you like to build your own...if You are AFRAID of building a pc, don't fear...its really easy. Just watch a couple tutorials and your good to go. Not to mention its satisfying and much better value...it also gives you a chance to get what YOU need.
If you still don't want to build your own rig we can suggest some good rebuilt rigs. One the other hand if your comfortable building a pc we can suggest parts and answer any questions you may have.
If you have any questions let us know:)
Cheers:)

I'd like to build my own, I just have no idea where to start! My friend mentioned newegg.com as a good place to get parts, but with so many different kinds it seemed overwhelming. I could probably figure out how to make it, so I guess I just need the parts! Thanks so much :)

Ok, here are some excellent tutorials made by newegg on how to build a computer. The parts are not all the latest but its pretty much all the same when building a computer.
I recommend you check out all three parts...
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

For your first build it is easier to buy your parts from one site and newegg is a great site to buy from.
Here is what I would recommend for $900
Let me know if you have any questions...Cheers:)
