Hello community,

I have bought a PC (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+Desktop+-+8GB+Memory+-+1TB+Hard+Drive/7785046.p?id=1218860880629&skuId=7785046) mainly for the whole family to use. I have heard about an option to do called Hybrid CrossfireX.

I had research about this matter and bought http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1875256 (Raedon 6570D) in order to do the Hybrid CrossfireX

I installed the GPU and tried powering the PC, but it started doing this beeping sound like a ticking bomb. Can anyone please help?

The reason why I wanted to Hybrid is to conserve energy and at least improve a little bit on performance when playing one game which is League of Legends. I can only play the game on a very low setting, I just want to play it on a descent visuals.

It appears as though your motherboard only supports graphics from integrated, or discrete, but not concurrently. I owned a hybrid crossfire setup, and I had to enable something in bios called "dual gfx" or some weird name like that under the chipset tab.

So pretty much Hybrid Crossfire is a no go for me then?

If you can't even get into BIOS, then I would say no go. The problem with a lot of prebuilt systems is that they lock them down too much. I can see how you would want to lock anything to do with overclocking, but hybrid crossfire can in no way screw up a computer.

I'll try and do this as soon as I get the chance.

If all fails, I'm willing to buy a budget gpu that can at least increase my quality playtime while playing League of Legends. Can you recommend amy budget gpus for me?

Well league of legends is a more CPU intensive game, so I don't know how much a discrete GPU would actually help. But something like the HD 7770GHz should be sufficient for your needs.

I'll be returning the 6570 to get the HD 7770 as you suggested. Is there any precautions I need to be aware of after buying this? Thank you so much for your help. Also do I have to install the stuffs on the CD that came with is first? Maybe that's the reason why it wasn't working?

You can try installing the drivers off of the cd first, but i don't think it would help very much. The one precaution you would have to take withthe 7770 is that your pc may not support any graphics card, not just hybrid xfire. However, this is highly unlikely. Just in case though, make sure the place you are buyin it from has a good return policy.

So I got it returned and picked up the 7770. I installed it perfectly and the matter of the problem now is that when I turn on the PC, everything is running except the GPU, it looks my power supply can't handle a on board GPU. :(

I only saw an 8-pin connector inside although the 7770 came with a 6-pin connector. Is it advisable to get a 6-pin to 8-pin adaptor? Sorry I'm new to this now. Thank you so much for keeping up with me. Also to add this up, my power supply reads at "maximum of 250W" something like that

Im sorry its actually 200W, should i just buy another power supply?

Yes, that is a pretty good idea. Seasonic, Antec, Corsair, and XFX all make quality PSU's. I would advise a 400-450w, just for a bit of headroom.

Hello, so I bought and installed an Antec 650W PSU. Everything is perfect til I tried to put the graphics card, once I put it in and turn it on, the desktop started beeping again with an orange light on the LED, then in a few seconds its gone and it went back the blue light (indicates that my pc is on). When I look at the monitor, its on power savings mode and no signal whatsoever. I removed the graphics card and turn it on, the monitor now then got signal and images.

I tried the method of disabling the integrated graphics chip, but still didn't do anything. I'm kinda giving up, but I wanted a solution because I dont want my effor and your effort to help me go to waste.

Yes sir.

If I don't connect it, the graphics card won't start. I also tried putting the VGA to the motherboard slot first but no effect also.

Really is the weirdest thing. It's like the computer is disabling it by default. Likely a restriction by the manufacturer. However, I don't know if it is a bios restriction or something in windows.

I am thinking the same thing, but for sure HP won't do such a thing. Is it viable to the options when I'm on bios, but then I am scared that if I switch the startup to the PCI and it didn't work again, I won't be able to switch it back.

I would go for it. Theres a little battery on your motherboard, called the CMOS button, probably under or nearby the graphics card. If you mess something up, and it wont start, all you have to do is pull out the battery for about a minute, and then put it back in. That should reset everything. In fact, that's actually probably a good thing to try.

I'll do it and inform you as soon as I can sir. Also, the beeping sound + orange light on the led, does that mean harm to me?

I have found my solution for this matter.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03653200

Pretty much HP has that Secure Boot feature that disabled the functionality of my new GPU. I am currently using it as I type this solution. Thank you so much for your help. Hope this solution will help other people that might have the similarities of my problem.
