My specs are:
intel dh55pj motherboard
4gb(2X2gb) ddr3 memory
intel core i3 550 cpu @3.2 ghz
and nvidia 9400gt (I know it sucks)

I am planning on buying a msi gtx650ti or msi gtx650ti(boost) but I was wandering if my cpu is good enough for that card. If not please suggest me a card and my budget is enough to buy a gtx650ti(boost) and one more thing, does the mobo mentioned above support overclocking or not?

More about : recommend gpu intel core 550 cpu

It's good enough man.

With your motherboard, check your bios settings. You should see it right then and there.

They'll go pretty well together. I'd go with the boost edition, as it's surprisingly better.

As far as I can tell (I was an AMD guy back then) that's an "H" chipset motherboard, which does not support overclocking.

That CPU at stock clocks is going to bottleneck anything modern. Can you overclock it?

I'd suggest getting the 650ti boost. It'll run games well. And maybe next year you can update your cpu+mobo. You're running on a 3year old i3, which isn't bad but the i3 has improved quite a bit.

Thanks for the reply everyone. As for overclocking the cpu, I tried to overclock it by changing bus speed from 133-146(I think) and it says that it reached 3.5 ghz in bios but inside windows it shows 3.2ghz. don't know why.:fou:
And one more thing, will pcie 2.0 in that motherboard will cause any performance difference on pcie 3.0 card like gtx650ti(boost)?

I'll add a vote for the Boost. And PCI-E 2 is absolutely fine.

You are right...PCI-E 2 is just the same as PCI-E 3 in gaming (for now). Maybe in a year or two the next gen will utilize the PCI-E 3.
