Wireless AP for HD Streaming

I need a good wireless access point for streaming HD videos from online and my local media server. I don't need a router, or a firewall, or anything fancy, I already got a server running pfsense to handle all of this. This will connect to that to just provide wireless access. There is the newer Linksys wireless routers which claim to be like double the spec 802.11N speeds but they are a bit on the spendy side. I'm looking to see if a cheaper solution would work.

  1. There's little point in getting a WAP that supports standards your devices don't - if it's connecting to a 2.4GHz-only 1x1 radio, a n900 (3x3, dual band) will still only do 150Mb/s.

What's it going to be connected to?

The real question is such an expensive device even needed to stream HD? The hardware on the other end could be anything it needs to be.
