Hi all! I am putting together my first gaming rig, or rather my first rig ever. I've compiled a checklist of components I plan on using, however nothing is set in stone and I wanted to get some feedback/recommendations. My goal is to end up with a reliable and fairly powerful system that can tackle most games on high settings.
Case: Zalman z11 plus hf1
CPU: Intel core i5-3470 ivy bridge
RAM: kingston HyperX blue 8gb (2x4gb)
PSU: Corsair CX500M 500W
GPU: Galaxy GeForce gtx 660
Mobo: ASRock B75M R2.0 LGA 1155 Intel B75 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
HDD: seagate barracuda 500gb
optics drive: ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS – OEM
OS: windows 8

Give me your thoughts! Thanks in advance!

Solid. Very solid. Definitely cable of playing most modern games on medium-high at 60fps constant.

Why not upgrade your 660 to the new 760? :D  I'm sure you'll get new promos there.

I probably should have mentioned, but I'm on a bit of a budget. How much more would a 760 be?

It's $70 more expensive. But if you have the cash, that is the way to go, as it has outstanding performance per dollar, which is what really matters in the end.

I'm sure I could stretch there in that case. Thanks for the help!

Good idea. $50 less for very very similar performance.
