Hi guys,
I'm going to buy a graphics card for my first gaming build this year. Here are the current specs of my computer (I'm going to buy):

Asus Z87 Sabertooth, i7 4770K, 16GB Vengeance RAM, Hyper 212 Evo, Seasonic Gold 650W, Fractal Design R4, Samsung 128GB SSD, WD 1TB Black HD, (graphics card).

The 760 just got officially announced and I was going to buy it when I discovered that two 650ti boost cards would pretty much be the same price (around $20~$50 more expensive). When doing my research, I found that 650ti boost in SLI actually beat higher end cards like the: 670, 680.

If I do get the 650ti boost, then I will get a performance increase over the 670, 680, AND the 760. However, here are some downsides:

Some problems with SLI (microstutter, power consumption etc...) and the fact that 650ti boost is an older card (by like 2~3 months).

Could you help me decide which choice is better? Either a single 760 or 650ti boost in SLI? Either way, it pretty much costs the same.

Thanks in advance!!! :D

P.S. If I do get the 650ti boost, which one should I get? MSI or ASUS?

They're both scored the same :p

first of all, nvidia currently has no microstutter problems, amd has.
u are building a nice rig and between the gtx650ti BE and gtx760, i would say go with the gtx760. It is far better than a gtx650ti boost.
But if u plan to do SLI with 650ti boost,it will be very good and their performance would be better than a gtx670. :)

1. get an i5 rather than an i7
2. get a lower end board
3. get 8GB of RAM
use the savings to get a 770 or if u can't afford it a 760

an i5 is more than enough for gaming. unless you'll be mostly playing CPU intensive games such as Guild Wars 2, then I would get an i5.

I'd get an i7. Most games won't benefit, but some of the latest, most cutting edge games like Crysis 3 will benefit. Which suggests more games in the future will benefit. All depends on price difference where you are of course - if the i7 is hugely more expensive then I'd go with i5. Either is a solid option.

In response to your question though, GTX760 is your better choice. Performance drawbacks of SLI are more than just micro-stutter - scaling is the real issue. Despite the fact SLI has been around a long time, many games still make poor use of the second GPU. You'll almost never see a doubling of framerates.

Actual gain will vary massively from as little as 30% gain (or even less!) in some games to 90% in others. It's those 30% gains that you may find really disappointing. If you're willing to accept that some games will take very little benefit from SLI, then 2x Boosts will give you more total performance averaged across all games.

Then...what 760 would you suggest? MSI or ASUS?

I'd go with MSI. I've had excellent experiences with them. Never actually used an ASUS personally, but I read about quite a lot of ASUS cards failing so that has put me off them a bit. Of course no manufacturer gets it right 100% of the time (far as I know... maybe EVGA do!) but seems to be more ASUS failures than MSI or Gigabyte. Would love to get my hands on some stats for failure rates from different manufacturers.
