installation cannot read CD/DVD but Windows reads Disk

Hi all
I am trying to install a Video Game but at some point of the installation the installation doesn't see the Disk.

It is not a DVD ROM issue because I bought a new DVD ROM and tried other 2 SATA DVD ROM's, I am self a technician and knows what's going on and in a PC, but when I install a PC Game at some point of the installation the installation is not reading the disk, but windows is reading the disk.

If I insert the disk windows picks it up does the auto run and and I start the installation but as soon as the installation starts to copy files over to the computer the installation stops and asks for files from the disk and when I look at My Computer windows still picks up the disk but not the installation.

If any can help PLEASE!!!

people still buy disks? sign up to steam get games cheaper and you don't have to have a physical disk you should be about to download the game of the official website and just type your product code to activate it, but seriously you don't need disks anymore just a USB stick :)

I know but its old games that I want to install.

This is whats mind boggeling the dvds and cds work fine without any trouble on my friends computer.
I also tried to take his dvd writer and connecting it to my computer the problem stayed on my computer.
The problem is not hardware it is windows that doesn't want the cd or dvd to be read

Thank you I know I can download it but I already have the disk.
But with bits I only install my software as 32bits (average household pc standard)

The problem that occurs is not directly a problem
>put cd/dvd in dvd rom, windows runs the auto-run feature.
>Next I run the installation, where I say the whole time next, next next all the crap about the licensing and end user agreement and stuff
>at last it gives me the option to install I then tap install and it starts installing all the components
>As soon as it has finished installing all the components like e.g. DirectX and that C++ stuff all the components what the game need it starts to install the game
>The installation is working 100% fine up in till a point where it shows copying files (the games files) now after a few moments of installing this part of the game it gives out an error for this file which it is busy installing is missing and cannot be found.
>All the games that I have tried does the same issue, I even went and bought a new dvd Rom and 2 new games and it still does the same
