Hi,
I'm looking to ditch the stock cooler on my FX 6300 as the temps inside my case are a little higher than I'd like, plus I plan to o/c the chip soon. I'm having some trouble finding the right thing for me.
I need to get a decent heatsink, that meets the following requirements;
1. Needs to fit an AM3 socket. I have an MSI 990FX GD-80 board if that helps any.
2. Needs to be good enough to keep my 6300 cool, I'm planning to o/c it to around 4GHz.
3. Preferably needs to have a horizontal mounting option. My case does not have top panel vents and I don't want to blow hot air straight at my GPU.
4. I don't have the biggest case (Sharkoon T9 link), so I think a lot of the bigger coolers might be a squeeze in there.
5. Preferably I don't want it to be something silly. ( ridiculous shape, lights up red etc)
Does anybody have any suggestions on something I could go for?
Or if you have the same case, what cooler did you go for?

oh, P.S, I specifically said Heatsink as I don't really want to go down the liquid cooling route on my budget. Probably in the future though.

I'd pick the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO as a solid choice for your needs at around £25. If you can push your budget higher then Phanteks PH-TC12DX would be another good choice at under £50, with great performance that can push your CPU to over 4.5ghz easily. Plus it doesn't block any RAM slots.
