How to expand a D: pertition

I had Local Disk C: 165 GB and shrinked it to 160GB. My local disk D: was 300 Gb and i tried to expand it to 305 Gb with the unallocated partition left from the Local Disk C: . But i cant do it. Please help.

Why is your D: partition BEFORE your C: partition on the drive?

Anyways, the reason you can't do it is that the unallocated space needs to be contiguous to the partition you want to expand (need to be next to it).

But can I ask why all the trouble just for 5 GB?
