Ram compatibility issue?

I just ordered a new motherboard from newegg, which came with 2x 4gb Ballistix ddr3 ram. I tried to boot up my system with it to no avail, but my old ram works just fine. Is there anything I should be changing in the bios, or is there something I'm missing here?

did you put them in the right slots?

I tried doing one on its own, in all slots, just to make sure. no cigar. the ripjaws work fine though.

So you tried booting with one stick at a time in all slots and nothing worked? If so you sure its not a DOA?

Do you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard? Sounds like the RAM may be bad, you will probably need to return them for some G.Skill RAM.

Since you here how do i remove the heatsink of the trident X?

1) Unscrew retaining screws at both ends of the heatsink
2) Remove red fiber washers
3) Slide heat fin off.

it even says I don't even have to apply force but i tried it both ways and still wont budge. want to WC those bad boys but having customer support issue.

Updating the bios was actually my next step, haven't been able to yet though because I'm at work. I'll do that later once I get home.

They should slide off, if not, you can send them in for RMA exchange to see if a new kit is easier to remove the HS.
