Did you actually setup the wireless on that router? If not, go into it's configuration page and do so.
If you did, and it does not show up in your wireless locations, try rebooting the router, check it again. You may also need to check the laptop to make sure your wireless hardware is working, check the on/off switch for wifi if you have one, check device manager for any errors and to make sure the wifi card is listed.
