Hi, I currently have the Coolermaster GX 750W PSU and its very loud! When I play battlefield 3 at max settings sometimes I can hear it tick like it has a fault with it, it gets extremely loud when it ticks.

So Im going to need to replace it, I think I should probably get around the same wattage, maybe with another single 12v rail. I would like some advice on what PSU to get, I have been looking at OCZ and Corsair PSU`s, the main/only factor really is that I want it to be silent or very near to! I want it to be a good performer too.

The rest of my specs are:
AMD 8150 8-Core O.C @ 4.2
Noctua NH-D14-2011 Dual Radiator Cooler
ASUS Crosshair Formula V
Kingston 16GB DDR3 1866MHz HyperX Genesis XMP Memory
XFX 7970 3GB Black Edition Flashed 2nd Bios to Official Ghz Edition
Coolermaster GX 750w PSU
Xi-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Sound card
OCZ 240gb Agility 3
2 TB Storage HDD`s
A shed load of fans and a coolermaster HAF case.

I will probably be going crossfire eventually, but I want to wait to see what the 8*** series will be like, and will most defiantly be getting the newest AMD CPU.
Money isnt a massive priority, I would like to keep it under £130 for a PSU.

Many thanks in advance.

I can't vouch for decibels, personally I've never owned a power supply that I could hear. Ar eyou sure it's not your video card that's loud when your playing games?

I would recommend

The Corsair CX is just ok, Corsairs cheapo model is the CX.

The graphics card is definitely loud, and by far the loudest thing in my PC at full load. But the fan tends to go straight down to 20% after gaming, whereas my PSU`s fan and the `ticking` will stay like that for about 30-60 mins after going back to the desktop. I did hear rumors about this particular model and revision being recalled due to faulty power phase but I don't know for sure.

I forgot to mention, im in the UK so newegg is a tad out of reach for me. Im looking for maybe a silver or gold rated PSU, and it defiantly has to be quiet.

You cant vouch for how loud these PSU`s are no? Im not sure how noise levels work with PSU`s, I had one PSU before this one that lasted me 3 years and never got loud and that was a dual fan Trust 540w.
Many thanks for your input.

Sounds like a bad fan or bearing.

It could be indeed. But I only get the ticking after at least 30 mins of high end gaming.

Looks good, nice price too! Im reading the info on it tho, I need 2 of the four pin CPU power cables for my CPU and Mobo.
Also, would it be better to get any of the slightly more expensive ones like the HX or AX models? And does it being bronze, silver or gold rated actually benefit me in anyway??
