Hi guys! I'm planning on buying new components for my PC and was wondering if the Corsair Dominator GT 4GB DDR3-1866 Kit (2x2GB) - CL9 would work nicely on the ASrock Z77 Pro3 mobo?

the RAM is a 1.65V and wondering if thats okay?
Thanks :)

most odd... here the 2x2 dominator is £46 about $90-100
whereas 2x4 vengeance cas 9 freq 1600 is £41 minimum.

but still overall cost your plan for 2 sets of 2x2 will cost... $180 dollars and will strain your memory controller, and you cant use the full potential of it as your system is mostly limited to 1.5v

but 2 4gb vengeances will be $98, and you can buy a $12 fan (equivalent of course) to do the job of the free one.

The dominator line are for extreme record setting overclockers. the vengeance are the main standard for mild overclockers...

Well see I live in south Africa which in summer can get very got... and I also have the hottest room in the house. That dominator comes with a fan which I found quite nice (maybe a little useless but it helps with airflow) and I thought the Dominator is better?

Dominator is technically the premium range. But at almost double the price of vengeance, not worth it. The effects of 8gb of vengeance outweigh any benefits a 4gb dominator gives. Even considering the vengeance is normally at 1600 rather than 1866, you wont notice a real world difference. You would be better served just buying an extra fan on top of the vengeance, they are cheap enough.

It is rare I ever see dominator make an appearance in builds on this forum, even those who go for $3500 pc's use gskill ares / ripjaws / corsair vengeance. Dominator are just vastly overpriced and you cant use the benefits of them if your system is relatively new, because they are made with lower voltages in mind.. What CPU are you using with it?
