Stupid question, I know. But what is the point of a wired network adaptor? Does it speed things up, or what does it do? And is it needed?
Also, would you guys recommend a wireless network adaptor for my build (I have $14 to spend on the adaptor), since I do travelling about 5 times a year? The model I'm looking at is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833180072&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Thanks!

Does your motherboard have a 10/100/1000 NIC? Probably. Then you don't need one.

Can you connect to the router via a wire? Then you don't need a WiFi card.

Do you have to rely on a WiFi connection? Then you need one of those. A PCI-e one is better than a USB one.

This means it will go as fast as your internet connection will allow basically. I doubt you have more than 100mbps download and 25mbps upload however.
