WD Black 2TB Vs Seagate Barracuda 2TB for Dxtory?

Hi,

I am just wondering which hard drive would be the best for recording gameplay using Dxtory. By this, I mean which one I would lose less ingame FPS on.

Here are the links for the two hard drives:

WD Black 2TB

Seagate Barracude 2TB

Right now I record BF3 on custom (it's basically low with post antialiasing on and a higher mesh quality) and get around 60fps on my Barracuda 1TB and I have heard that recording to a dedicated drive will improve ingame performance and the addition of the WD Black would also help.

Thanks.

Seagate drives are more renowned for failing or being DOA, so bear that in mind. However, you would get the exact same FPS.

Is the extra $70 worth the extra 3 year warranty? I have never had a HDD fail in my life before.

Would they both give me the same FPS when recording with Dxtory?

I am buying it today so time is of the essence.

Thanks sophiebeth100, for the clear and simple answer.

Like I said, I have never had a HDD fail in my life and these seagate drives have served me for quite a while so I will be buying another one of those, plus FPS won't change, might as well save me some money.

RESOLUTION: Buying a Seagate Barracuda 2GB instead of WD Black.

I have actually bought an exact Seagate Barracuda 1TB as the one I have right now. I did this because I found out about RAID 0. So I created a RAID array with 2x 1TB drives and the speed basically doubled. However, I did have to do a clean install of my pc.
