So I bought this combo on Newegg on sale last week:

1 x ($119.99) AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor FD6300WMHKBOX $119.99
1 x ($119.99) SAPPHIRE 100358L Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card $119.99
1 x ($74.99) Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM $74.99
1 x ($69.99) MSI 970A-G43 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard $69.99
1 x ($59.99) COOLER MASTER Elite 350 RC-350-KKR500-GP Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply $59.99
2 x ($25.99) SPECTEK by Micron Technology 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model ST4G3D160B $51.98
1 x ($17.99) LG 24X DVD Burner - Bare Drive 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 24X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model GH24NS95 - OEM

I put everything together and did all the wiring and it starts up, but the monitor doesn't respond. There's no video output on the motherboard so I can only use the included graphics card. I put the graphics card in another computer and it worked fine. This is my first AMD build so I don't know if there's something that I missed that's causing the problem. Any ideas?

Check the mb bios label and see if you got a newer mb with a newer bios.
Some mb need x bios rev to post some CPU. The list will be under your mb CPU qal list. On your mb check that you used the mb standoffs and it not grounded out and near the CPU there a four or eight pin power plug make sure that connected. Try posting with one ram stick in the pc and no gpu.

I figured it out. Both RAM sticks were bad. I tried with RAM from my other computer and it started fine. Guess I'll be contacting Newegg about a replacement now.
