Hello all,

ok, I have had my comp, overclocked to 4.7ghz for months now(on air!)
I was doing monthly cleaning, and thought i would revisit my oc. I noticed my voltage changed, from 1.27v ish, to 1.30v.

so that wasn't even the weird part. i felt like there is some head room to get me a higher clock. when i changed the boost number to 48, and booted to OS, both cpu-z, and core temp, still showed 4.7ghz. I set everything back to default re booted, and it was showing 3.4 ghz(as it should.) I then reset everything back to my stable oc, of 4.7ghz.
came back to it today, retried the 4.8ghz, 5ghz, 4.6ghz. all still listing as 4.7ghz, in cpu-z and core temp. the bios does reflect the changes. voltage changes do register in the bios, cpu-z, and core temp.

anyone has any suggestions as to why this is going on?

Thanks!

i reinstalled the core temp, same results. I have 1.62 on cpu-z. I will try the bios update reset, tomorrow.

I will report back then.

Thanks all!

yeah, went back to 4.7ghz. the jump to 4.8, and the voltage necessary was to great in my mind. 1.280 for 4.7ghz, then had to jump to 1.335 to get it stable at 4.8ghz. heat was in an acceptable parameter, 86c after 30mins prime95. of course more testing...

thanks again!
