have gone through several iterations of installing and de-installing the msi 660 after failing to get a display. have discovered that the display works directly off the mobo (vga) after pulling the msi 660. Any clues as to what I have done wrong in building this system up from scratch?

Thanks for the advice and additional checks. If referring to connecting the monitor to the GPU is referencing having the monitor plugged in, yes. I was or have continued to use the hdmi port with no success. I have just performed a review in bios for this setting or option and could not find such. Will review the mobo manual as well.
