Hi all:

I 've built my new computer with windows 7 (legit)

I have noticed that whenever i use anti virus, or installing applications/softwares, my computer would experience buzz and freeze that last for 0.5~1 seconds, sometimes for a shorter period sometimes longer(1 sec).

What does that sound like ? it doesn't happen unless I'm operating some window operations (installing softwares or antivirus).

thanks!

Sounds like rthe fan on the video card.
It might be a loose wire that is too close to an internal fan.
Sometimes a buzzing noise might be a capacitor that is being overworked particularly with a mobile PC like a laptop where the power adapter is also plugged in and an external device is also connected.

Installing software or use of anti-virus means that the hdd is spinning faster than normal so that could mean that the hdd read/write arm is loose (faulty), or that the hdd is near to capacity and is struggling to find space for the data.

It only happens whenever i install or use anti virus, so it doesn't happen when im playing video games or doing any other things...

it would be a HUGE bummer if it was the video card tho.

Well, remove the video card and use onboard video out.

If you have any dust inside the PC, that could impact on the spin rate of any fans.
Some internal fans, particularly those not connected directly to the motherboard, mollex to PSU, could cause such issues if on the same cable line to the psu with other devices with different voltage/amps.

I still don't understand why this only happens when using windows operations such as installation of any softwares/games, or antivirus scan.

when im not doing that there are zero problems. I actually just came back to this thread because i was scanning my comp again and it just happened again which really bothers me.
