Probably a hardware issue, run prime95 in stress test mode and see if it stays up, also go though 3DMark. Since you formatted already, you can rule out a driver issue, can try changing RAM or using only half if it's on 2 chips.

(thanks for your response) i ran the prime test as you have suggested showed no faults after 5-6 hrs, although 3D mark dint even run for a min..it freezed and i had to force restart.. :(

So CPU and probably RAM are OK, but you have an issue with the video card, that is what's crashing. If the laptop is under warranty, have Lenovo look at it. You could try an older video driver also, sometimes updates have issues. Did you use the Lenovo drivers or try the ones from nVidia? For laptops you'd want to use the ones from the laptop vendor.

If it's a laptop, you want to use the drivers from Dell, is that what you are using? Or the ones from nVidia? if from nVidia, uninstall those and install the Dell drivers from their support site.

If it's an issue with the video chip, it could very well have damage in a part of it that FIFA does not use at all. Different game engines.

Yes, use the video drivers from Dell not nVidia. If you read the mobile driver section at the nVidia website, they even say that you should use the drivers from the laptop vendor.

what it does now (after only dell drivers) is that the game works for 2 mins then it goes on to a sound loop..and crashes back to the desktop (no force restart)..sometime the color changes to some bluish-green.

That's starting to lean towards bad hardware. If a clean setup did not fix it or different drivers.
