Hi Soul,

Sounds like it could be a driver problem, I recommend following a guide to uninstall the drivers for your graphics card then download the latest ones from the Nvidia website. All being well this should get you up and running again, if not please post back.

Uninstall Drivers: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/IO_13955.html
Download latest Driver: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk

Ok I still think it's probably a driver problem ,but you will need to dig deeper to fix it.

The first thing to try is to restore a windows backup if you have on available. Check the guide here http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/system-restore-windows-7.htm and choose a restore point before the error occurred. If that fails or non available try the method below.

First create a backup of windows.
This guide will walk you through doing a clean install of the drivers https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/467215/geforce-driver-installation-guide-a-guide-to-ensure-your-drivers-are-installed-properly-/ . A couple of notes on this, first be careful with driver sweeper, it's quite powerful so make sure you follow the guide closely with it. If you're unsure whether you are running 64 bit open up my computer, go to your C drive or the drive windows is installed to and see if the folder program files (x86) exists - if it does you are running 64 bit, if not you are running 32 bit and do not need to do the optional 64 bit steps. Finally if you reboot and it shows only a black screen inside of windows put in the install disc, boot from it and restore a backup of windows.
