So today I turned on my pc, logged into my windows 8 account and left it like that. When I came back the screen was black... which is normal. So i just moved my mouse as i normally would but this time the screen stayed black. I figured it was a one time thing and i restarted it. Now Windows 8 didnt want to boot up. I just had a black screen for like 2 mins and then a windows 8 screen finally popped up saying "Please Wait". After that it normally booted up and all was fine.

But my question is... why did my PC do that... is there something wrong with it? Is something unstable?

NOTE: My PC is overclocked (GPU and CPU) but ive had it overclocked and running fine for about 3 months...

Was there a Windows update going on in the background when you left? Are updates set to automatic?

Is the PC running fine now? If you restart does it do it every time or was it that one event? Sometime when Windows is configuring updates at start up it will leave you hanging like that on a black screen. I'm not too keen on Windows 8, I was thinking of putting it on my laptop to learn the ins and outs but never got around to it.
