what is needed to turn pc to wireless

I have a router but I have no internet but on a lap top I have a source nearby. How can I get my Desk top pc to pick up wifi, what do i need to let my desk top pc pick up the wifi signal?

If you have no internet service, you need to make sure you have permission to use the wifi signal you are connecting to, in some areas it is a crime to connect to a wifi signal that is not yours without permission.
