Hi guys!
Yesterday I got my Sapphire Radeon HD 7990 and today I tried to install it. I have a Dell U2713H monitor and it supports 2560x1440 resolution. I tried installing the drivers, but still the maximum resolution I can set my monitor to is 1920x1080, plus the colors are quite weird. Also the display doesn't display anything when I connect it via display miniport. Right now my monitor is connected via HDMI->DVI cable.
Could anyone help me solve this issue?
Thanks.

Unless otherwise specified by BOTH your monitor and video card, HDMI will limit you to 1920x1080. Did you remember to switch inputs on the monitor when using the mini displayport cable, and have you tried the other mini displayport jacks on the video card (specs indicate it has 4)? Do you have an alternative mini displayport cable or a dual-link dvi cable you can try, to see if the cable is bad?

Return it and get a 690, titan, or 2 770's in SLI (770's That will wreck any of the above, and be over 200 dollars cheaper. More then enough for a SLI capable MOBO if you don't have one).
Seriously the 7990 is a hunk of trash, AMD cannot into drivers to save there life for ONE GPU, Let alone Crossfire.
Don't use the free games or they will throw a fit.
Next time do some research before you spend money, go back and read This, Specifically This part.

Not trying to hate, but you dun goof'd brah.

I don't have any other cables. I tried the other mini display ports and it works only in 640x480. Before this I had a 7970 video card and it worked at 2560x1440.

By the way, do you know how to reset the monitor's edid(Extended Display Identification Date)?

You need to run a DVI for 1440p

The HDMI is screwing it up, then.
You should still return it and get 2 770's...

And 770's are 10% quicker each then 680's, and at 400 bucks each its 200 cheaper then the 7990.

Look here http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/05/05/radeon_hd_799... . I think 2 7970's are cheaper then 2 gtx 680's.

Any converter is going to be limited by what ever is slowest. HDMI will not work, HDMI to DVI will not work. DVI to HDMI will not work. You need a dual link DVI-D cable, or displayport. You cannot mix and match in slower interfaces and get it to work.

A normal DVI-D cable will not work either. It has to be "Dual Link DVI-D" or Displayport. Just don't mix and match converters unless it is an Active Displayport to Dual Link DVI-D (the converter must specify it handles Dual link if you go this route).

7970 GHZ edition's are the same price as 770's, a 770 is a slightly quicker 680, and its quite a bit cheaper.

Also, the 7990 has 2 7970 GPU's, slightly underclocked, in SLI on one card. AMD has notoriously terrible multi-GPU setups, as the Crossfire drivers are not up to snuff with Nvidia's.

While I'd never advise someone to get a 7990, the person already has it, so it is kind of pointless to argue about it now, unless they can still exchange it. In a month, it may be fixed anyways, so it may not be that bad.
