Hi,

I need to install an internal floppy disk drive on a system with an ASUS MAXIMUS VI GENE motherboard, which does not seem to have a floppy drive connector. What would you recommend? Are there SATA FDD's out there for such situations or do I need some sort of adapter? Which brand would you recommend for best quality rather than price?

Before you try convincing me that floppies are legacy, I'll mention that I am aware of this fact but I personally happen to be one of the few that still require one. Furthermore, I'd rather not buy an external FDD, if I can avoid it, for the following reasons:

  • ■I need this drive for only one machine.
■It's more convenient to relocate the case and the drive at the same time.
■I'd rather not waste an USB port.

Cheers,
Bogdan
