Hello All,
A few years ago I bought a computer for a friend that was preloaded with Windows 7 Professional. Recently I got that screen that says I need to authenticate Windows, but I didn't think to get it back then and I'm not fiends with the turd anymore.
Other than the Product Key issue, the computer works fine and I REALLY don't want to have to do a fresh install on it. My question is, can I just by a new Win7 Professional OS with a new Product Key and use that without doing a re-install? Will it work and I can move on with my life, or do I have to do a fresh install?
Also, I assume the answer is no, but what's the chance I can get the Home edition instead of the Professional and it will still work.
